A few questions: ressources, tasks duration, & entities

Ajouté par Al C il y a presque 10 ans

Hello,

I successfully created a new project model with aspect "Entity" but it still appears in my beCPG admin among others projects... I had to chose Family & Sub-Family : is it the reason? I can't leave the fields empty...

Also, I would like to know if there is a way to:
- chose more than 1 project leader.
- chose a group as a ressource.

Last: when I change a task duration, the next ones are also updated. Is there a way to have the option to keep the previous dates? I don't want to setup any start or end date since I want to use project models/entities.

Thanks!

Hi again,

Also I notice that overall % done (Gantt) is takign into account the number of tasks instead of the the number of days.
Is it intentional?

hello,

Yes, Familly and sub-familly are mandatory, even on project template.
You need to create a familly : Template and Sub-familly Template.
A project with bcpg:entityTplAspect should not be displayed in Project overview. Maybe it is a bug in that release. It's fixed in the trunk.

You can select only 1 project leader.
Right now, a group cannot be selected as a resource. you can select several resources, it'll be similar to a group.

If you change the duration of one task, dates of next tasks will be updated in order to take in account the change. No, there is no way to do what you ask right now.

overall % done takes in account duration of task (number of days).

Thanks for your reply Philippe.

There might be a bug with the % done then, because here is what I have:

RE: A few questions: ressources, tasks duration, & entities - Ajouté par Al C il y a presque 10 ans

My bad... actually it's probably due to the 3rd task skip, right?

RE: A few questions: ressources, tasks duration, & entities - Ajouté par Al C il y a presque 10 ans

Well... no it's not. But first screen displays the right % (beCPGdone1.jpg).

Hello,

We take in account duration of Completed and Cancelled tasks to calculate the % done.
So, yes it's due to 3rd task.

Are you sure? :)
See attached file. And 100% for 4th task = 60% overall with this view.

Regards.

yes.
There are 2 types of duration for a task:
  • Duration of task filled in form
  • Duration of task including week end (displayed in gantt)

the % overall takes in account the first one.

RE: A few questions: ressources, tasks duration, & entities - Ajouté par Al C il y a presque 10 ans

Then why does I have a 60% done project while it is 128 days long and there are only 4 days left? It should be 97%

RE: A few questions: ressources, tasks duration, & entities - Ajouté par Philippe Quéré il y a presque 10 ans

Because, task 4 is not finished.
Task must be finished or cancelled.

Sorry to insist but, see attached. :)

OK, I understand.
In the Gantt view is takign into account the number of tasks instead of the the number of days.

For the project list and the field % overall of the project, it is calculated with duration. I was looking at that.

I've created an issue for the % overall in Gantt view:
