Project duration and Weekend
Ajouté par Chris Schulz il y a presque 10 ans
Hello,
How it is possible that the software counts only workdays - not the weekend (like other PM software)
Best regards
Chris

Hello Chris,
It takes in account workdays when we calculate start date and end date of tasks.
In the gantt view, we display total days including weekend.
For example:
Task1:- duration 8 days
- start is 13/2/2014
- end would be 24/2/2014
In the gantt view, it will show 12 days.
Does it answer your question ?
If not, please add a print screen.
Best regards,
Philippe

Hello Philippe,
I cannot confirm the settings:
I set only a start date for task 1 Planung
Then I set only durations and Prev.task for all other tasks. I'm not sure, if there is an influence if I play with the Manual Date field.
Please see attached screen shots
Best regards
Chris

I doesn't work as expected.
in project2.PNG, you should have start and end dates filled automatically.
Do you have any errors in the logs (catalina.out) ?
RE: Project duration and Weekend - Ajouté par Chris Schulz il y a presque 10 ans
Try the following steps to verify my way:
create task 1, set the start date to 27.6.and a duration of 5 days. If I look in the gantt I can see that the end is placed on the 3.7. - correct.
create task 2, set the prev task to task 1 and the duration to 5 days. If I look in the gantt the second task will be placed in the same timeframe, which is incorrect if I set a prev task.
If I set Start in Manual Date field the task 2 will be placed after task 1 in the gantt, but it includes the weekend.

Hello,
I don't get this behaviour (cf. images attached).
I guess, you are running an old release of beCPG (in image project3.PNG, field duration is not mandatory).
Don't you have any error in your logs ?
Can you try the release 1.6.b ?

Hello Philippe,
I can try the new version. Is there a special upgrade path? (deinstallation, reinstallation or upgrade?)
btw. your images shows me that your timeframe includes the weekend?

- stop server
- get original war of Alfresco (usually, I na[[]]med it alfresco.war.setup to keep the original one)
- in webapps, remove alfresco folder and alfresco.war
- copy alfresco.war.setup to alfresco.war
- apply new amp
- start server
- The duration is 5 days
- The total days showed in Gantt is (end - start) but it takes in account working days to calculate start and end dates.

Hello Phillipe,
I have installed the new wars and will test it asap.
But now I get some errors in the catalina.out during the start:
ERROR [solr.tracker.CoreTracker] [http-bio-8443-exec-6] Model tracking failed
org.alfresco.service.namespace.NamespaceException: A namespace prefix is not registered for uri http://www.alfresco.org/model/project-workflow/1.0
and
ERROR [solr.tracker.CoreTracker] [SolrTrackerScheduler_Worker-3] Tracking failed
org.alfresco.service.namespace.NamespaceException: A namespace prefix is not registered for uri http://www.alfresco.org/model/project-workflow/1.0

Hello Philippe,
unfortunaltely the same behaviour as before.
If I set a prev.proj task I expect that the new task will start after the previous task, but it seems that the new task starts at the same time as the first one.
What is the exact behaviour of the Manual Date switch?

Have you filled the prev task ?
If you set "manual date" as start, then the start date is not calculated automatically. So, you need to let empty the field "Manual date".
RE: Project duration and Weekend - Ajouté par Chris Schulz il y a presque 10 ans
Yes prev task is set to task 1
I played a little:
If you change the duration of task2 the end date is still the same but the start date is moved backwards - very strange...
RE: Project duration and Weekend - Ajouté par Philippe Quéré il y a presque 10 ans
OK, I understand, you are working in retro-planning.
Clear the field "Due date" on the project.
If "Due date" of project is empty -> planning
If "Due date" of project is filled -> retro-planning

Hello Philippe,
I believe that there is something wrong:
Now I can add more task but I'm unable to set a Prev.Task field. There is no list anymore. I have an old project too, and I'm able to choose only old tasks. If I insert a new task the task is not in the list if I try to add futher tasks.

Hello Philippe,
next issue:
the project list shows me only the old project. No new created projects are visible. A restart of the server doesn't solve this problem.

What is the state of your project ?
The project list filters project by state.
RE: Project duration and Weekend - Ajouté par Chris Schulz il y a presque 10 ans
The state is In Progress
I can change the state - lets say in planned, but the list is empty if I filter by state planned.
RE: Project duration and Weekend - Ajouté par Philippe Quéré il y a presque 10 ans
Does your project have the aspect "entity template" ?
We exclude project templates from the Project list.
RE: Project duration and Weekend - Ajouté par Chris Schulz il y a presque 10 ans
no. If I compare the old working project with the newer I cannot see any difference.
RE: Project duration and Weekend - Ajouté par Philippe Quéré il y a presque 10 ans
To understand what happens, you can enable the log to see the lucene query:
log4j.logger.fr.becpg.repo.search = debug
in the file webapps/alfresco/WEB-INF/classes/alfresco/module/becpg-core/log4j.properties
Then execute it in Alfresco node browser. You should understand why it works on one project and why it doesn't on the second.
RE: Project duration and Weekend - Ajouté par Chris Schulz il y a presque 10 ans
Hello Philippe,
if I click the pev task arrow I get a message in the catalina.out:
08:40 30/06/14 [becpg-core] DEBUG [BeCPGQueryBuilder] [fr.becpg.repo.project.listvalue.TaskValuePlugin 68] +PATH:"/app:company_home/st:sites/cm:testproject/cm:documentLibrary/cm:_x0033_.Test/*/*/*" +TYPE:"{http://www.bcpg.fr/model/project/1.0}taskList" +@\{http\://www.bcpg.fr/model/project/1.0\}tlTaskName:(*) executed in 0.437 seconds - size results 0
Results is 0 but there is at least one entry in the list.
I'm not familiar with the node browser. What should I do in the node browser.
BR
Chris
RE: Project duration and Weekend - Ajouté par Philippe Quéré il y a presque 10 ans
Hello Chris,
Open node browser and copy paste lucene query:
+PATH:"/app:company_home/st:sites/cm:testproject/cm:documentLibrary/cm:_x0033_.Test/*/*/*" +TYPE:"{http://www.bcpg.fr/model/project/1.0}taskList" +@\{http\://www.bcpg.fr/model/project/1.0\}tlTaskName:(*)
Select lucene language and click on search.
This should return a result.
If not, you can try:
+PATH:"/app:company_home/st:sites/cm:testproject/cm:documentLibrary/cm:_x0033_.Test/*/*/*"
then
+PATH:"/app:company_home/st:sites/cm:testproject/cm:documentLibrary/cm:_x0033_.Test/*/*/*" +TYPE:"{http://www.bcpg.fr/model/project/1.0}taskList"
then
+PATH:"/app:company_home/st:sites/cm:testproject/cm:documentLibrary/cm:_x0033_.Test/*/*/*" +@\{http\://www.bcpg.fr/model/project/1.0\}tlTaskName:(*)
to understand what is wrong.
Also, you can try to create another project.
I cannot help you more since there is no scenario to reproduce it.
Regards,
